TEXAS FINE ART LANDSCAPES
Texas Landscape Fine Art Photo Prints by Kevin Vandivier
Limited editions of Texas photography for sale created by Art Photographer, Kevin Vandivier. Vandivier has travelled down almost every road in Texas looking for the right art. As the Photography Editor of Texas Highways Magazine, he would travel throughout the state of Texas capturing beautiful images for the magazine. Many times, when he would find that special place he would return on his own dime to capture the scene in that perfect light. Vandivier believes strongly that great landscapes require great skyscapes as well. Please enjoy exploring this collection.

GOD RAYS
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:
Years ago while shooting a book on Texas I happened to be just East of Post, Texas when I encountered this quickly buiding thunderstorm. The humidity was vey high and thick so the God Rays were very visible when underexposing the film slightly. This little grew to become a monster that would march across Texas and most of Oklahoma. Multiple tornados were spawned, including the F5 that hit Moore, Oklahoma. I chased this storm for awhile until it left Texas and started to dump hail. I'm not young and dumb any more....just old and slow:)

GUADALUPE MOUNTAIN
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:
Probably the most iconic mountain in Texas. Many tales have been told of this mountain and it offers one of the best hikes to the summit in Texas. Being so iconic, a gazillion photographers have photographed it and most of the images all look pretty much the same, just different days. I struggled for days looking for the right angle that would not look just like everyone elses. This profile was my favorite and after a few trips and many nights sleeping in my landcruiser, I finally hit a windy day with the leading edge of a front moving in. I like how the clouds movement edge the photo towards a 3D feel. Also, the colors here are variations of brown, unless you come in the spring or late fall, the textures are amazing, so I decided to make it B&W.

CHIHUAHUAN DESERT
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:
I enjoy shooting ariels of deserts whenever i get the chance. Deserts are chaulked full of texture and shapes which always makes for good black and white photoraphy. In many ways this image reminds me of some of the images that have come back of Mars terrain.
